I am a chartered forensic psychologist and have over eight years experience working with children and adults in secure and community settings. I specialise in working with people with trauma histories who may be experiencing difficulties with emotional management and struggle to navigate interpersonal relationships.
My primary approach is Schema Therapy, and I adopt a relational approach to therapy where my main goal is to establish an authentic connection with the people I work with. I have experience of working therapeutically with people presenting with different areas of need such as personality difficulties, low mood, post-traumatic stress disorder (including dissociation), hopelessness and suicidal ideation, addiction and self-harm. My experience in forensic settings means I am skilled in understanding risky behaviours and often work with people who may have had violence committed against them or may have been violent towards others. I aim provide a warm, empathic and non-judgemental space for people to collaboratively explore the meaning behind their behaviours, before establishing healthier coping mechanisms that will allow you to move forward with your life.
