My name is Abbie, and I am a Clinical Psychologist working in the NHS, a university, and privately. I’ve been fortunate enough to work across a wide variety of NHS and private sector services for over 10 years, which has allowed me to develop a really creative and flexible approach to working with people. I have worked with children, young people and adults with a range of mental health, trauma, and neuro-developmental experiences. I take an integrative approach to therapy, which means I consider a variety of therapy types to ensure you receive an experience tailored to your individual needs. For example, I might use parts of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), Narrative Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). They all have similarities and differences, and their own strengths and weaknesses, hence why I like to use these models flexibly to think about what can help you best. I understand how daunting it can be to see a therapist. I like to work in a way where we build trust over time so we can acknowledge your strengths and values. I’m a firm believer that you have all you need within you to create change, but therapy can help to cultivate it.
