As a Clinical Psychologist, I have spent most of my career working in NHS services for older people. While I remain deeply passionate about this area, I also value the opportunity to work with clients across different life stages through Collective Psychology. I understand that sharing distressing thoughts, feelings, and experiences can take a great deal of courage. My aim is to create a safe, exploratory, and non-judgemental space where you feel supported, while also offering practical and personalised strategies to help you achieve meaningful change. I am continually inspired by the wisdom and resilience of the people I work with, and I seek to draw on this strength – together with my professional experience – to help you adapt to or overcome the challenges you face.
Who I Support
Adults (18+)
Common concerns
I work with a range of mental health challenges, including, but not limited to, anxiety, low mood, OCD, and sleep difficulties.
Areas of clinical interest
Trauma, bereavement, role changes, and physical or cognitive health challenges (including dementia), experiences of later life.
How I Work
I take an integrative approach, using a range of methods guided by what we identify together – how your difficulties have developed and what might be keeping them going. My doctoral training focused on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Cognitive Analytic Therapy and Systemic Therapy. I also draw on Compassion-Focused Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and have completed additional training in this approach.
Professional Background and Qualifications
Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy), University of Exeter
MSc in Human Cognitive Psychology, University of Edinburgh
BSc in Psychology, University of Glasgow
11 years working in NHS mental health services
Specialist training in Compassion-Focused Therapy with older adults, and for trauma and grief.
Beyond the Therapy Room
I value both learning and teaching and feel fortunate to contribute to the education and development of early-career psychologists. Outside of work, time with family, outdoors, and small creative pursuits helps me to slow down and calm my, sometimes, busy mind.
