About me
I bring over 15 years of experience supporting people in the NHS, community organisations, and private practice. Through this work, I’ve come to understand that psychological distress as a natural response to difficult life experiences. Talking through these experiences with a trained professional can help you process and move forward. I hold doctoral-level training in the psychological treatment of distress and am committed to using my knowledge and experience to support your journey. As a counselling psychologist, I see the therapeutic relationship as central to the work we do together. I focus on building authentic, collaborative, and safe alliances that encourage exploration and growth.
Who I Support
Struggling with your mental health or wellbeing can feel lonely, exhausting, and overwhelming. Maybe you’re struggling with periods of low mood, recurring anxiety, or just not feeling yourself. Perhaps you’re experiencing a loss or facing challenges in your relationships. Whatever you’re going through, I am here to help you take that important first step toward feeling better. I work with people over the age of 16.
How I Work
My approach is integrative, drawing on evidence-based models including attachment theory, psychodynamic therapy, and cognitive-behavioural therapy. I also have experience working with therapeutic approaches for psychosexual issues. Sessions with me are conversational and reflective, while always remaining focused on supporting meaningful, lasting change.
Professional Background and Qualifications
I hold an undergraduate degree in psychology, a master’s degree in counselling and psychotherapy, and a doctorate in counselling psychology. I am registered with the HCPC (Health and Care Professionals Council), and work according to their standards of conduct, performance, and ethics.
Beyond the Therapy Room
I love to travel and explore whether close to home or further afield. I enjoy cooking for friends and family and experimenting with new dishes. I find getting outside to connect with nature restorative and try to do so, in small ways, every day.
Ready to Get Started?
If you’re considering therapy, I invite you to book a free 15-minute phone call with no obligation. This is a chance for you to share what’s on your mind, ask questions, and get a feel for how we work. Reaching out can feel daunting, but if you do decide to get in touch, you can expect to be met with warmth, compassion, and no judgment.
