About Me
I’m a Clinical Psychologist and qualified in 2009. Since this time I have been working with children, young people and their parents and carers, predominantly in the NHS, supporting them with a wide range of challenges. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that change happens in the context of safe and trusting relationships.

Who I Support
Children, young people, parents and carers

Common concerns
I work with children and young people who have experienced a wide range of challenges including complex trauma, anxiety, low mood, and emotional overwhelm. I also work with parents and carers to support them with the challenges that can arise within this most important role.

How I Work
I work in a range of ways, drawing on models that are the right fit for the person. I particularly draw on ideas from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Developmental Dyadic Psychotherapy (DDP) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). Most importantly, I will always meet with the person wherever they are at and develop the work to meet their wishes and goals. First and foremost I aim to build a trusting relationship from a place of empathy, acceptance, and curiosity.

Professional Background and Qualifications
– Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy), Canterbury Christ Church University
– BSc in Psychology, University of Newcastle upon Tyne
– Approximately 20 years working in NHS mental health services
– Specialist training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), CBT approaches (including trauma-focused CBT), Developmental Dyadic Psychotherapy (DDP), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
– Facilitation of many therapeutic parenting groups and individual therapeutic parenting work

Beyond the Therapy Room
I love outdoor swimming and am a keen runner. I will often escape into a good book or a podcast.
