About Me
I’m a clinical psychologist with 10 years (3 years post qualification) experience in supporting young people and adults with their physical and emotional wellbeing. I am passionate about working collaboratively with the person (and their support system) to understand their psychological difficulties, consider how they are impacting their lives, and how they can move towards a more meaningful life.
Who I Support
Adults and young people (12+)
Common concerns
I work with varied areas of concern, including, but not limited to, anxiety, stress, self-esteem, neurodiversity, and living alongside persistent health conditions
Areas of clinical interest
Stress, anxiety, trauma, physical health
How I Work
I value using an integrative approach across my work, drawing upon Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I believe in the importance of reflection, to support the person to notice the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and responses. Secondly, I aim to develop practical, meaningful strategies collaboratively with the person, moving them towards long-term management of their emotional and physical wellbeing.
Clients often describe my approach as validating, patient, and calm, with a focus on listening to them and their story, whilst working together to build strategies that fit with their individual circumstances.
Professional Background and Qualifications
– Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy), University of Southampton
– MRes in Psychology
– BSc in Psychology
– 7 years in NHS mental health services
– Specialist training in ACT, CFT, CBT
Beyond the Therapy Room
I enjoy spending time outdoors. This could be joining an exercise class (most likely inside in the winter!) or going for walks in the woods/by the beach with my family. I value movement as I find it can help my emotional and physical wellbeing immensely. I am also passionate about human rights, so I like to learn about history/current events, to inform how I can be an ally for those who experience less of a voice in our current society.
